DAY 1 (December 25, 2011): LIVE Christmas Lights
We arrived in Palawan a little bit past lunch time and it was really windy and cloudy due to the typhoon that just left the country and the incoming low pressure.
Of course sir Joseph (the owner of Travel and Tours) met us at the airport and drove us to Fran Pension. A quick rest at our Inn then we headed out to eat at a restaurant called Balinsasayaw.
There were lots of tourists so when our orders came we were so hungry!

We had a seafood bonanza!!!
We had no problem with our transportation because the van from Wild Rock Travel and Tours would fetch us and bring us to our destination.

After eating we headed to our first activity! FIREFLYWATCHING! (please click link for the complete post!)
Next on our itinerary was the Underground River Tour. It's pretty cool to get to see a Natural Wonder of the World as soon as it was declared as one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Though the weather may not seem to cooperate with us we still had the chance to experience it. We were really lucky because we were the last group to arrive in the island before the coast guards decide to cancel all the boat rides going to the Under Ground River!
We saw mushrooms, corns, phoenix, pegasus, religous figures and Snoopy didn't even miss the fun.. Almost each part of the cave has their own name. We passed by the "Kitchen" (because their were vegetable figures), the "Cathedral" (because of the religious figures).
The Stalactites (the ones on top) and Stalagmites (the ones below) take centuries or even decades to form. And once they meet at the center they are now called a COLUMN. You see, God has created so many wonderful things on Earth and it was indeed a great blessing to see it.:)
Back to the warf! Chibog-an time! (Eating time!)
I forgot to tell you that this was no backpackers kind of trip. I was travelling with my family so most likely we were on tour. So our tour guide from WILD ROCK TRAVEL AND TOURS was so kind and fed us buffet style.
After that awesome lunch we had to try this exotic "delicacy" they had in Palawan. I read in blogs that you didn't go to Palawan if you didn't try this thing they called TAMILOK. There's a lady who sells these and you wouldn't miss her, she's carrying a red (or was it blue or black?) pail. It's P100 per plastic and this TAMILOK, they say, is rich in protein and it's good for arthritis and with no second thoughts my parents finished it.
TAMILOK is really a worm that lives on dead Mangrove trees. Once they are exposed to air, these Tamiloks die.
EVENING
The Undergound River Tour was a blast but as we headed to our inn we could all hear our tummy grumbling. The kind people in Fran's Pension Inn told us to try eating at Badjao Seafront if we want to experience a seafood bonanza part 2!
We hailed a tricycle and this is what we got: (please refer to the picture below) It was one big tricycle! It can fit 5-6 people!

BADJAO SEAFRONT
Much to our dismay, upon arrival to Badjao Seafront we were so excited and HUNGRY but there were no more seats available.
Advice: When it's peak season it's better to reserve your seats before going to Badjao Seafront.

We headed to another resto called BILAO AT PALAYOK and my parents find it better than BADJAO. Biased aside (we still ate in BADJAO naman eh).
